Makassar Airport (UPG)

In the morning, your driver will transfer you to the airport in Makassar, from where you will fly to Toraja for just 60min, instead of the harsh 8 hours by road. Upon arrival in Toraja, your guide will pick you up to start your tour. We will visit Bolu market, where you will see the White Buffalo of Toraja, pigs and other local products such as Toraja coffee, Lada kattokon (chilli Toraja) and many others. Then we visit the traditional village Kete Kesu, surrounded by rice fields, nature and local handicrafts. In the afternoon, we will visit Londa, a full mystical area of culture and history, where we will see natural caves used by locals as a cemetery. There are two entrances to the cave, so we will enter by one and will go out from the another. We will arrive at your hotel around 17.30h for your rest.

This morning you will need to knock 3 times to enter the Tongkonan Papa Batu in Rembon, one of the oldest, most unique and mystical tongkonan and see the skull of a sacred buffalo that they believe to heal diseases and diabolical possessions. You will do a small trekking of 1000 steps of the Dutch soldiers. You will see the Tau Tau figures in Simbuang, representing the dead, you will have lunch among rice fields, you will see the tombs for babies in Kambira where their souls continue with that of the tree, you will visit the historic Lemo, and according to luck, we will be able to see during the day some funeral ceremony.
